With a strong footprint in various industries, we pride ourselves on delivering highly configurable solutions tailored to each client’s needs.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced AI leader to define and guide Optimiser’s AI strategy across both product innovation and internal development processes. This is a senior, high-impact role focused on translating AI capability into real, defensible commercial advantage.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Founder, Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to ensure AI is applied thoughtfully, ethically, and pragmatically—enhancing decision-making, automation, insight, and efficiency across the business.
This is not a purely research or hands-on coding role. It is a strategic leadership role requiring deep AI understanding combined with strong business judgement.
1. Company-wide AI Strategy
Define and own Optimiser’s long-term AI vision and roadmap.
Identify where AI provides genuine competitive advantage vs. hype.
Ensure AI strategy aligns with business goals, customer needs, and regulatory constraints (GDPR, data ethics).
2. Product & Platform AI
Identify and prioritise AI use cases within Optimiser’s products (e.g. insights, automation, prediction, personalisation).
Guide the design of AI-powered features that are explainable, trustworthy, and commercially valuable.
Work with Product and Engineering to translate strategy into deliverable initiatives.
3. AI in Engineering & Delivery
Advise on how AI can improve internal development workflows (e.g. code quality, testing, documentation, DevOps, support).
Define best practices for safe and effective use of AI tools in the SDLC.
Help teams adopt AI without compromising security, quality, or maintainability.
4. Governance, Risk & Ethics
Establish AI governance frameworks covering data usage, model risk, bias, explainability, and compliance.
Ensure responsible use of AI across customer-facing and internal systems.
Act as the internal authority on AI risk and decision-making.
5. Leadership & Influence
Act as a trusted advisor to the Founder and senior leadership team.
Educate non-technical stakeholders on AI capabilities and limitations.
Support sales and commercial teams with credible AI positioning where appropriate.
Essential
10+ years experience across AI, data science, advanced analytics, or applied machine learning.
Proven experience defining AI strategy at an enterprise or scale-up level.
Strong understanding of modern AI/ML approaches (including LLMs), their limitations, and real-world deployment challenges.
Experience working closely with product and engineering teams.
Ability to communicate complex AI concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
Highly Desirable
Experience in SaaS, enterprise platforms, or data-intensive products.
Exposure to regulated environments (GDPR, privacy-sensitive data).
Background in CRM, or vertical SaaS is a strong plus.
Experience advising founders, boards, or C-suite stakeholders.
